In a one of a kind art competitions and the very first in the region, the digital artist Stephanie Sanossianand and the Arabic calligraphy artist Diaa Allam both competed LIVE and head to head to use their creativity for a cause.
The two artists chipped in an online live challenge from their own homes, where they came up with two unique designs for the G-SHOCK metal line up (GM-6900G-9A). The two creative designs aimed to give us all comfort and hope that we all will prevail and overcome the current situation. They have achieved that through portraying the theme message: ‘ This Time Shall Pass ’ or in Arabic, “هاذا الوقت سيمضي”
Both designs were posted on G-SHOCK and Arab Watch Guide Instagram pages where voters got the chance to choose the design that spoke to them the most. We believe that both designs were absolutely stunning, but in the end, one winner must be chosen and the artist who won by more than 1469 votes and 53% total was Diaa. And what distinguished Diaa’s design is that it featured Arabic calligraphy on the straps in a very skillful way.
The pre-ordered and sold-out design on Arab Watch Guide website went immediately into production for 30 limited-edition timepieces Not only that, but 30% of the sales are planned to be donated to charity foundations that have a positive contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic.
